Film Screening Of Bhopal: A Prayer For Rain

ONE-OFF SCREENING INCLUDING Q AND A WITH DAVID BROOKS: JUNE 2O15…

David Brooks took on a very big challenge in writing a film which dealt with the Industrial disaster at the Union Carbide India Limited pesticide plant in Bhopal, India. A gas leak caused the deaths of an estimated 16,000 people. Over 500,000 people were exposed to methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas and other chemicals.

The ensuing paper trail of civil and criminal cases has made documenting the subject a near impossibility. David has only screened the film once in the UK and it has not had a general theatre release. He has however, screened it in Bhopal where, he says, to his in-describable satisfaction, it received an excellent reception…

Look out for further details of this event which will take place during the month of June. Dates TBC..
